The importance of clinical supervision or career development practitioner supervision cannot be understated. Especially in the next decade of tumultuous growth and intensified VUCA world of work, along with career life becoming ever more complex from an intra-personal and person and environmental perspective. Therefore, we need sound, quality, founded and ethical supervision in career services delivery, career services design, practice standards and policy, coupled with personalized continuing development for every career development practitioner.

Despite its importance, clinical supervision or career practitioner supervision are often not prioritized or known by public or private career development organizations, possibly due to:

1. Low awareness or misunderstanding of about career practitioner supervision

2. Lack of qualified and competent career practitioner supervisors

3. Emphasis on practitioner outcomes versus practice efficacy & growth

4. Lack of enthusiasm from CDPs to receive practice supervision

Career Development Practitioners, Career Counsellors and Coaches can benefit from a structured practice supervision process in the following ways:

1. Growing and strengthening effective career practices

2. Increase theoretical, ethical, holistic understanding about client case work

3. Balance the service and practice efficacy for a wide range of client goals (eg. job placement, career decision making, resume writing)

4. Use awareness of personality competencies to strengthen counsellor and coaching disposition

This service is useful for Career Counsellors, Career Coaches, especially those in formative practice stage (1 to 5 years of career practice).

The supervisee must have undergone formal training or holding a credential in Career Development (eg. NCDA Certified Career Service Provider, WSG’s Certified Career Practitioner, Republic Polytechnic’s Specialist Diploma in Career Counselling)

Based on our own research, the typical cost for clinical supervision in the counselling space is from SGD$250 to SGD$350 and upwards for a 50 mins session.

For our practice supervision programme, we are glad to offer a flat rate (no hidden or recurring costs) of SGD$2,300 for 5 supervision sessions of 6.5 hours. This is inclusive of an Intake, Closure and 3 supervision sessions with an experienced Career Practice Supervisor holding credentials from the US National Career Development Association (NCDA).

Organisations that would like to support 3 or more Career Counsellors or Career Coaches for group career practice supervision are welcome to reach out to us for further discussion.

Our team of Career Practice Supervisors are trained in the field of counselling, career development. They have completed at least 45 hours of career practitioner supervision training and they hold the Certified Clinical Supervisor of Career Counselling (CCSCC) credential from the US National Career Development Association (NCDA). They would also have counselling practice experience and have also received practice supervision support too.
