Pre-Registration: Career Counselling - Focused Case Conceptualisation Masterclass - Intake 2/2023

Learn and apply Case Conceptualisation skills with integration of career theories, through this masterclass, conducted by Dr Jonathan Sperry.

Case conceptualisation is a process and cognitive map that can help career development practitioners to understand and explain what is happening behind a client’s presenting issues and help formulate an appropriate help plan.

In the current volatile landscape, building case conceptualisation skills of local career development practitioners can help improve the client-practitioner alliance, explain what is happening with the client’s situation and develop focused interventions and help.

Programme Learning Outcomes

1. Participants will learn the key elements of an effective career counselling case conceptualisation.
2. Participants will learn a step-by-step strategy for developing effective career counselling case conceptualisations and intervention plans. This includes how career assessment can inform intervention planning.
3. Participants will learn how to integrate career development theories (Holland’s theory of vocational personalities, social cognitive theory, trait factor, and Adlerian theory) into the case conceptualisations process.
4. Participants will apply the knowledge and steps covered in the workshop in a full-scale case conceptualisation through the use of several case vignettes.

Live Webinars (6 hours across 2 sessions)

Attend 2 half day live webinars to understand the knowledge and steps towards case conceptualisation

Group Consultations (45 mins)

Experience small group practice of your case conceptualisation skills and attend a 45 mins group consultation with a Training Assistant supporting Dr Jonathan Sperry

This programme qualifies you to a total of 6 hours 45 mins of verifiable continuing professional development hours for WSG credential holders. [To be determined upon intake confirmation]

Entry Pre-requisite

This programme is organised for Singapore Citizens and PRs and is suitable for the following groups of learners:

• Career Development Practitioners – Career Counsellors, Career Coaches
• Supervisors of Career Development Practitioners – Practice Supervisors, Team Leaders, Clinical Supervisors
• Trained / Registered Counsellors, Psychotherapists with an interest in working with clients with career issues

Certification Fees

Indicative fees range from S$340 to S$420 per participant (with government subsidy)
